I am very impressed.
This is definitely one of the best marketing tools I've come across in a long time. Check out http://www.clicktale.com.
This tool is absolutely necessary when you get serious about analyzing your website and optimizing it. Here's what ClickTale does. With just a few lines of code on your website, ClickTale tracks and records the mouse movements of your website's visitors. Minutes after the visitor is finished navigating your website, a series of videos show up in your account. Now you can see how people move around your site.
For our clients, this was an instant success. It shows first hand how real visitors work with your site and where they might get frustrated, or what they find most useful.
Think of the possibilities. You can test different navigation layouts, different colors, different opt-in forms, different title fonts, or anything you can imagine to optimize the ease of use of your website. We used to get this sort of information from the Google Analytics site overlay, but now you can actually see the way the user's mouse moves. After you gather enough information, it generates heatmaps and demographic information.
This sort of information is priceless, and they give you 400 videos per month for FREE, which is great to start testing and learning their system.
So, here's my advice. Go get the free version and install it on your website. It's remarkably easy. One caution though! If you have any secure sections (SSL) on your website the free version of this script will alert the user of unsecure scripts running on the page. Be careful with the free version so it doesn't show up in your shopping carts. The business packages are very affordable so if you like it, you can gather tons of information about your website's' visitors.
Thanks for reading! Check back in tomorrow for more marketing tips.
